She also asked for the resignation of a Union County Republican BOE Elected Official in 2020 for violating the Code of Ethics. Earlier that same year-the Union County Chamber Chair (also a 2020 Mecklenburg County voting Democrat) created a Union County Chamber DEI Board where Dr. Mitchell was and still remains the Co-Chair. She is also on the Union County Chamber Board of Directors.
